  • Katt Williams slammed Kevin Hart during Shannon Sharp’s latest podcast episode.
  • Williams’ comments reignited his feud with Hart, who called Williams’ behavior “sad” over X.
  • The comedians have exchanged jabs dating back to 2014.

Comedians Katt Williams and Kevin Hart have reignited their long-running feud following Williams’ controversial appearance on Shannon Sharp’s show.

The ongoing drama between the two comedians took a new turn last week when Williams’ interview on “Club Shay Shay” went viral. During the nearly three-hour episode, Williams wasted no time taking shots at several of his peers such as Steve Harvey, Michael Blackson, Ricky Smiley, and Cedric the Entertainer.

Williams also targeted Hart by suggesting he was a manufacturing plant who made false claims about the start of his career.

The pair have traded barbs over the years, bickering online and in interviews – take a look at their years-long feud.

One of the first examples of a fight between the pair occurred in August 2014 when Williams spoke to TMZ Sports. When asked who he thought was the “funniest athlete,” Williams didn’t hold back.

“I think Shaq and Russell Simmons should get out of comedy and stay in their lane,” Williams said. “They don’t see us as a league for professional basketball players under six feet, so what qualifies these guys?”

Williams then called Shaquille O’Neal a “bum” and brought Hart into his remarks.

“Get out of here, you bum, before I take the rest of your girls like you took Kevin Hart from me,” Williams said. “I want my bitch back.”

According to Vibe, Williams was on his way to the Conspiracy Theory Tour in February 2016 when he mentioned Hart during a stop at Philips Arena in Atlanta.

“You’ve already proven that if their best comedy is Kevin Hart, don’t underestimate a hard-working black man, baby,” Williams said. “Even if that nigger is a doll, it’s not his fault. We don’t get mad.”

He added: “Just because I’m better than some black men, doesn’t mean I’m better than no black men. I’m saying if you want to get mad at Kermit the Frog, don’t be mad at Kermit.” Frog, get mad at Jim Henson. Don’t say, “Fuck Donald Duck” when you actually mean “Fuck Walt Disney.”

The outlet reported that Hart responded with an accurate response via Instagram. At the time, Hart shared a photo of himself with Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock at the 2016 Academy Awards.

“True professionals understand the importance of sticking together and supporting each other…. At the end of the day, we are comedians and there are not many who have reached the level we have,” Hart wrote.

According to Vibe, Williams took another jab at Hart in March 2016 before the Conspiracy Theory Tour stop in Philadelphia — Hart’s hometown.

“I’ve seen your stuff on social media. I know what you’re doing, but you’re doing it to play. If you’re doing it for real, that’s Kevin,” Williams said in a video shared by HipHop DX. “I have a show in your hometown, in Philadelphia; I’m going to record my own show there. On that one, we can put whatever you want: a full-court basketball court, a boxing ring, and two microphones for rapping,” he added. “Or you can dust off your comedy on That theatre.

Williams added that the bet should be set at $5 million.

“Sir,” Williams said, “$28 million at Forbes. I’ll bring my money in cash, Mitch. Bring what you want. And since you’re not a puppet, don’t bring any white people with you.”

March 2016: Williams publicly apologized to Hart during a radio show interview.

During a March 2016 appearance on V-103 Atlanta’s “The Big Tigger Show,” Williams issued an apology to Hart for comments he made during a stop of his comedy tour in Philadelphia.

“I should never have mentioned Kevin Hart’s name. He’s the reigning king of comedy if you ask for popular consensus,” Williams said. “The fact that he is a black man like me and the fact that I attacked him with such vitriol at a time when our country was already divided in every way that could be divided.”

Williams told the host that it was “unfortunate” that he tried to “embarrass” Hart during his set.

He added: “I humbly apologize not only to Kevin Hart, but also to Hartbeat Productions, Plastic Cup Boyz and anyone associated with Kevin Hart. This was a mistake on my part.”

September 2018: Williams criticized Tiffany Haddish, prompting Hart to criticize Williams on “The Breakfast Club.”

The next major point in the Hart and Williams saga occurred in September 2018 on V-103’s “Frank and Wanda In The Morning.” Williams criticized Tiffany Haddish during the interview by questioning her comedic ability and whether she could draw crowds for a big tour.

That same month, Hart defended Haddish during an appearance on “The Breakfast Club.” At the time, he and Haddish were promoting their movie Night School.

“My frustration with Katt Williams comes from you keep referring to Hollywood, ‘Hollywood and the white man, this, this, and this’ when do you take responsibility for your actions? You got the chance! You were the man!” Hart said.

Hart then suggested that studios stop working with Williams due to his drug use.

“You were groomed to be the star. You didn’t show up to work,” Hart said.

He added: “Have you ever used your platform to stir up people under you? You haven’t. So, because you haven’t, don’t mess with those who are now under your control.”

September 2021: Williams said a comedy-versus-style fight between him and Hart would be “cheating.”

According to Revolution, Williams told Baltimore radio personality Persia Nicole in September 2021 that he would defeat Hart in a comedic fight.

“It’s almost cheating for me. I have over 10 specials. I only have to pick two jokes from each special, and I’ve already killed anyone whose last name isn’t Pryor anyway,” Williams said. “We don’t want to add 52 movies, we certainly don’t want to add 11 specials, we certainly don’t want to add 49 television appearances, and we certainly don’t want to add an Emmy.”

Williams added, “It’s almost a fight we can’t afford to get into… Maybe it doesn’t match up the way you think it matches up.”

January 2023: Williams criticized Hart during the latest episode of Shannon Sharp’s podcast, “Club Shay Shay.”

Williams criticized several comedians in the Jan. 3 podcast episode, including Hart, who suggested he was an industrial plant.

“In my fifteen years in Hollywood, no one in Hollywood remembers going to a sold-out Kevin Hart show, where there was a line, (he) got a standing ovation at any comedy club,” Williams said.

“He already had his deals when he got here. Have we ever heard of a comedian who came to L.A. and, in his first year in L.A., had his own sitcom on network TV? And he had his own movie called ‘Soul Plane,’ which he continued:” he was driving? No, we haven’t heard of that before or since that person.”

Hart gave a brief Reply to Xformerly known as Twitter, after Williams’ comments on Shannon Sharp’s podcast.

“I have to get rid of this anger, hero… It’s honestly sad,” Hart wrote On January 4th.

A day later, he appeared on ESPN’s NBA Unplugged where he mocked Williams. At one point, Hart joked about Williams’ claims during the interview, including that he read 3,000 books a year between the ages of eight and 12.

“At the age of seven, he was accepted into…I think it was the University of Delaware,” Hart said. “It was never made public news. Biggest secret in the world. The smartest kid ever did it and they kept it a secret for 48 years,” Hart continued.
