Biden also criticized Trump’s recent comments that he would allow Russia to “do whatever it wants” with a NATO member that does not pay up on its security obligations.
“How in God’s name? The idea that the President of the United States would invite Vladimir Putin to invade Eastern and Western countries?,” Biden said.
Biden said there is a “difficult path forward” in the war between Israel and Hamas.
Biden said: “The month of Ramadan is approaching, and there was an agreement among the Israelis that they would not participate in any activities during the month of Ramadan as well, in order to give us time to extract all the hostages.”
“I think if we get a temporary ceasefire, we will be able to move in a direction where we can change the dynamic,” he said.
Biden told reporters after taping his appearance on “Late Night” that he hopes the ceasefire will go into effect by the end of this weekend.
