We don’t talk much about live+ same-day ratings anymore, since it’s the first measurement of the long tail that now includes time shifting, streaming, and more viewership. But if we look at the good linear live show for the week of February 12, CBS has a story to tell. Thanks to the corona effect of Super Bowl LVIII coverage on February 11, the Eye Network’s “Week 1” hit the list of the top 16 most-watched shows this week.

According to CBS, this marks the first time the broadcast network has reached the top 16 slots in airtime since at least Nielsen’s People Meter debuted in 1987.

Because of the Hollywood strikes, broadcast networks are only now beginning to put prime-time scripted series back on the air. Last week, CBS launched the new season for 16 of its 19 prime-time entertainment series — averaging 5.08 million viewers for the week, up 32% from the September 2022 premiere week (September 19 to September 25, 2022) with an average of 3.85 million viewers. .

“In an increasingly fragmented media world, CBS’s programming and audience reach strategy continues to excel and stand tall,” CBS CEO George Cheeks said in a statement.

CBS also reported that the primetime series on Paramount+, CBS.com and the CBS app was up 83% from last season’s premiere week.

“Once the strikes ended, we focused on the programming and promotion plan to launch our new season after the Super Bowl,” CBS Entertainment agent Amy Reisenbach said. “Our loyal and new viewers have overwhelmingly responded and welcomed the return of their favorite shows in a big way.”

Meanwhile, The Eye says the post-Super Bowl premiere of “Tracker” is now reaching nearly 28 million viewers across all platforms, including seven days of DVR/VOD playback and streaming on CBS.com, Paramount+, and February viewing . 15 premiere appearances.
