Roadmap for the next five months of “Destiny 2”

With last week’s conclusion of the main story of Wish in Destiny 2 season, we’re heading into a very long period of time before The Final Shape releases on June 4, 2024. It’s another six-month season, and we’ve had the last two expansions before this one as well, so Grammarly, Bungie wants something To fill that gap. At least a little, especially in the current “revenue forecast failure” climate.

Across the various TWABs and Joe Blackburn videos, it can be a little difficult to remember exactly what’s supposed to be coming and when. So, here’s the breakdown of what we know, although nothing has concrete dates yet.

January:

nothing. As far as we know, nothing significant will happen over the next two weeks other than the usual resets and the opening of the final catalyst for the Wish-Keeper arc in Starcrossed next Tuesday.

February:

Moments of victories Payouts, which isn’t an actual event so much as a set of challenges that you complete in exchange for some different rewards like ghost shells, sparrows, emblems, etc. It’s in pursuit of the MMXIVXII title, whatever that is. It basically does a lot of different things in seasonal or expansion content, ritual playlists with sort of conditions like killing things with ritual weapons. It’s…something that needs to be done, but there’s probably not much pull to come back.

Wishes It’s a sort of “progression and reward-based” weekly mission, which I think is supposed to mean something that progresses from week to week like a seasonal story, but likely on a much smaller scale. Despite the name, it will be open to all players, not just those who own Season of the Wish. We don’t know anything after this about a possible conspiracy or plunder. I think this will start relatively early in the month until the dead time of January is over. It’s not clear how long it will last or how many “wishes” there will be.

He walks:

Guardian games It will arrive, witnessing two events in one season alongside The Dawning due to delay. Joe Blackburn says he will have a “renewed focus” on Class 5 competition, which I thought was the point, but we’ll see. New Eververse armor, a new weapon of sorts and new wraps on old weapons. It might be worth playing around with that, as The Dawning ended up with a lot of great loot this time around.

April May:

This is the launch of Into the Light, the larger “mid-season pop-up” thing Bungie is building that won’t be on the scale of something like the 30th Anniversary Pack, but something that will allegedly be for both veteran and new players. Both, extending over the previous two months to final form. It will allow you to “prepare” for The Final Shape, but whether that’s story or loot, we don’t know. Since the story ended with Crow entering the portal to let us through, I think this happens in the “we’re waiting for him to get there” part of it.

maybe:

PvP Map Pack. This was announced back in November 2023, at which time the announced release month for the three new maps was May 2024. Like many things, this may be subject to change, and perhaps their release may be delayed with or after the final form. , but this is the latest information we have on this subject. I know parts of the offensive PvP team were laid off last fall, so that could affect him as well.

After that, the final form will be in June, and the episodes will start after that. It’s going to be a long five months (well, four and a half now), but hopefully some temporary content will provide at least a few reasons to stop.
