The singer and actress then said: “We are in a room of very influential people, very special people, which is exciting and also a great honor to be a part of that. Having said that, I would like to take the opportunity to show support and call for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza.

As the audience applauded, Rapp continued to urge the audience to “please keep standing up for yourselves, keep standing up for your friends, your gay friends, and those who can’t stand up for themselves.”

The party was held at the Los Angeles Beverly Hilton last night, and a party is scheduled to take place in New York on May 11 at the Hilton Midtown.

The Los Angeles GLAAD gala will stream on Hulu on March 29.
