The infamous Razzie Awards honoring the year’s worst films are back.

While Sunday’s Oscars will celebrate Christopher Nolan’s historical drama “Oppenheimer” and Greta Gerwig’s $1.4 billion blockbuster “Barbie,” the 44th annual Razzie Awards will focus on lesser-seen films, such as The fourth film, “Expendables” and “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and”. “Honey,” a horror film adaptation, won five unwanted awards.

“Blood and Honey” practically swept the Razzies, winning Worst Picture, Director and Screenplay (Rhys Fricke-Waterfield), Best Screen Pair (Pooh and Piglet) and Best Remake/Make-Up/Sequel. Sylvester Stallone and Megan Fox won the supporting actors category for “Expend4bles,” and Fox won the lead actress award for “Johnny & Clyde.” Jon Voight won the Worst Actor award for Mercy.

The Razzies also presented Fran Drescher with a “Redeemer Award,” recognizing the 1998 Razzie nominee for “The Beautyian and the Beast” for – amazing! – “Outstanding shepherding of the Actors Union through a long strike in 2023 with a successful conclusion.”

The anti-awards satirical body, founded in 1981 by John Wilson and Mo Murphy, faced backlash last year for nominating 12-year-old Firestarter star Ryan Keira Armstrong for worst actress. After an online uproar, the Razzies removed Armstrong from the ballot and surrendered Itself Worst Actress Award for “43rd Worst Actress Nominations Blunder.” Last year’s winners also included Tom Hanks, Jared Leto, Machine Gun Kelly and Andrew Dominik.

This year’s Razzie winners were announced by the Mean Gays (Aaron Goldenberg and Jake Jones), who held a virtual ceremony one day before the 96th Academy Awards. The comedy duo has formed a new strategic partnership with the Razzies, brokered by Evan Mirzai and his production banner, House of M.
