McConkey Insurance & Benefits, a provider of financial security and risk management solutions, has promoted Laura Mercadante (pictured left) and Brock Lytle (pictured right) to vice presidents/directors, effective January 1, 2024.
Mercadante, who joined the McConkey team in 2011, began as a customer service manager in the benefits department where she supported account managers and executives, contributed to the sales process, and managed customer service needs. Her journey within the organization led to successive promotions, ultimately culminating in her role as Director of Employee Benefits.
“I am thrilled to have this opportunity to help lead one of the Mid-Atlantic region’s most elite insurance brokerage firms into the future while continuing to support the team in delivering the exceptional advisory services and solutions that our clients have come to know and trust,” Mercadante said.
Little joined the team in 2016 as a Business Insurance Executive and brings extensive experience in the insurance industry. He began his insurance career with Travelers as a claims adjuster working with commercial businesses in the North East.
He then transferred his claims expertise to Travelers’ Commercial Underwriting group, where his responsibilities included developing opportunities, underwriting exposures and controls, considering different approaches to insurance terms and conditions, and negotiating program details with agency partners.
At McConkey, Brock’s primary responsibilities focus on serving many of the agency’s largest construction and collections clients, as well as driving growth across the Business Insurance division.
