Kacey Musgraves is saying goodbye to people who are good at wasting her time, and hello to a brand new Boy Smells candle. Named after her highly anticipated new album “Deeper Well,” which is scheduled to be released on March 15, the new fragrance contains top notes of saffron, eucalyptus and raspberry and promises a “sound-to-scent interpretation” of the lyrics and themes. Of the same name.
Singer-songwriter Boy Smells wants “Deeper Well” to be an additional element of the new album. “While Kissy draws from deep wells of joy and personal experience, the candle is also a nourishing kaleidoscope of gourmand earthy notes: mushroom, beetroot, oak moss, and dank patchouli reflect a return to the roots—a distillation of what is essential—like eucalyptus,” Boy’s press release says. Smells: “Raspberries and lavender bring soft, refreshing vibrancy.”
“I was more focused, grounded, and confident than ever before, and I knew I wanted to create a multi-sensory experience that cultivated self-discovery and our connection to the natural world,” Musgraves said via press release. “Working with Boy Smells is always a joy – and I truly adore the care, sensitivity and thought that Matthew (Herman, co-founder and creator of Boy Smells) brings to the process.”
“Deeper Well” marks the second collaboration between Musgraves and Boys Smells, with “Slow Burn” (named after their 2018 song) topping the charts and the mantles of almost every country music and good vibes fan.
Deeper Well (which celebrated its release in New York City) has an earthy/gourmondy scent. It is made from a blend of coconut and beeswax with a braided cotton wick. There are approximately 50 hours of burning in Deeper Well. The candle is currently available on the Boy Smells website.
