Instagram is down. I repeat, Instagram is down for thousands of users on Thursday, according to an outage tracking site.
DownDetector.com, a site that monitors online unrest, has reported thousands of complaints about the app across the US, and it comes after millions of accounts were shut down on Wednesday.
The cause of the disturbances was not revealed. Earlier in March, the platform was taken offline due to what was described as an internal issue. Instagram is owned by Meta Inc.
Today’s power outage began around 4pm PT. The service appears to be back up by 7pm PT for at least some users.
