Idina Menzel commemorates John Travolta’s Oscars faux pas by wishing Adele Dazim a happy birthday


Idina Menzel celebrates the 10th anniversary of John Travolta’s viral stunt at the Oscars.

Travolta had the honor of introducing Menzel on stage but had difficulty reading the teleprompter and instead introduced Adele Dzeem to the stage.

Menzel took to TikTok to celebrate Dazeem’s birth ten years after the Oscars blunder.

“Hi, Adele Dzeem, I’m Idina Menzel. I just want to say happy birthday,” the Broadway star said in the video. “Sending you so much love and positive energy, I hope you have the best and best day.”

Menzel then sang “Happy Birthday” to honor Dzeem and signed off, saying: “Have a great year. Lots of love. Farewell!”

At the 2014 Academy Awards, Travolta was tasked with introducing Menzel, who would take the stage to perform “Let It Go,” one of the songs from the movie Let It Go. Frozen.
