How to watch this year’s Oscars online and on TV: Don’t forget to get an early start

The 96th Academy Awards ceremony is scheduled to be held on Sunday, March 10, at the Dolby Theater at Ovation Hollywood. Here’s what you need to know.

What time does the Oscars start?

The ceremony will be broadcast live on ABC and elsewhere starting at 4pm PT/7pm ET, an hour before the start of the traditional Oscars ceremony. It’s also the first full day of daylight saving time, with spring taking effect starting at 2 a.m. Sunday.

Jimmy Kimmel will host the Academy Awards on Sunday for the fourth time, and the second year in a row.

What channels is the Oscars ceremony shown on?

In addition to ABC, the Oscars will be available on ABC.com and the ABC app via authentication with a cable or satellite provider. ABC is also available through streaming services including Hulu Live TV, YouTubeTV, AT&T TV, and FuboTV, many of which have free trials when you sign up.

Red carpet previews

ABC’s official preview, Oscars red carpet, will begin at 3:30 PM PT/6:30 PM PT with Vanessa Hudgens and Julianne Hough as hosts. On E! , annual network Live from the Oscars Red carpet coverage begins at 1 PM PT/4 PM ET.

In Los Angeles, The CW’s KTLA-5 will broadcast a live red carpet show from the Oscars from 1-3:30 PM PT, hosted by news team Sam Rubin, Jessica Holmes, Megan Henderson and Doug Caulk.

Earlier today, ABC News will present Countdown to the Oscars: On the Red Carpet Live from 10am-1pm PT/1-4pm ET, which will be broadcast on ABC and broadcast on ABC News Live, with Linsey Davis and Whit Johnson hosting live from the Dolby Theater red carpet.
