The merger officially took effect

, represents a significant milestone in Harford Mutual’s 181-year history. ClearPath Mutual, a well-established single-line workers’ compensation company headquartered in
Louisville, Kentucky
It was merged into Harford Mutual and converted into an equity insurance company, now operating under the name Clearpath Insurance Company, and marketed as “Clearpath Specialty.” As a member of the group, all policyholders continue to receive the benefits of mutuality as they renew or write new business with Clearpath Specialty.
The merger expands Harford Mutual’s national footprint, creating three offices in strategic locations across the country: Home Office and headquarters in
Bel Air, Maryland
; South office in
Fort Mill, SC
; And the Midwest office in
Louisville, Kentucky
The company has also expanded its reach, with Clearpath writing up its workers’ compensation business

With our full-time headcount at over 250 employees, Harford Mutual’s employee base has increased by approximately 55 individuals, working out of the Midwest office and primarily supporting single workers’ compensation. All employees of Clearpath Specialty will become employees of Harford Mutual at the beginning of 2024.
Over the past five months, Clearpath has begun to integrate into Harford Mutual’s programs and operations, and is expected to be completed over the next 18 months through 2025.
