Halle Berry pays tribute to X-Men star Eden Cantu after his death at the age of 42


Halle Berry has paid tribute to her X-Men co-star, Eden Cantu, who has died at the age of 42.

Mexican-American actor Cantu died on Wednesday (January 8) after a battle with appendix cancer. “Adan had a depth of soul that few knew,” his representatives said in a statement. Those who glimpsed it were changed forever. He will be greatly missed by many.”

Canto played the role of sunspots in X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014) alongside Perry, who starred as Storm. Perry went on to star in Canto in her directorial debut Bruises (2020).

“I don’t have the words yet…but my dear, dear friend Adan has just gained his wings,” Perry wrote on Instagram, adding: “Forever, forever in my heart.”

His high-profile television credits include following And Designated survivorWhich was led by Kevin Bacon and Kiefer Sutherland respectively. In the latter, he played Vice President-elect Aaron Shor for three seasons. Cantu also played politician Rodrigo Lara Bonilla in the Netflix drama Narcos.

Sutherland also paid tribute to Cantu, writing on Instagram: “I’m sad to lose Adan Cantu. She was a wonderful soul. As an actor, his desire to do well, be great, and then do better, was truly admirable and he will be greatly missed. I’m sad, too.” Very grateful to his wife, Steve, and his two young children. Aden, may God rest his soul.”

His last appearance was in the Fox drama Cleaning ladyIn which he played the role of gangster Arman Morales.

Cantu’s illness prevented him from filming scenes for the final season, which began production in December, but he was planning to join the show for a later episode.

“We are saddened to learn of the passing of Adan Cantu,” Fox and WBTV said in a statement. “A wonderful actor and dear friend, we are honored to have him be part of the Warner Bros. Television and Fox Entertainment family since his U.S. debut in following More than a decade ago.

Cantu is survived by his wife, Stephanie Anne Cantu, and their two young children, Romain Alder, three, and Yves-Josephine, one.
