Walton Goggins (“Justified”), Patrick Schwarzenegger (“Gen V”), Amy Lou Wood (“Sex Education”), Sarah Kathryn Hawke (“First Kill”), and Sam Nivola (“Maestro”) scored the final lead roles. In the upcoming Thailand-set third season of Mike White’s HBO series “The White Lotus.”
The five join the likes of returning Natasha Rothwell, along with Carrie Coon, Parker Posey, Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan, Leslie Bibb, Christian Friedel, Morgana O’Reilly, Dom Hetrakul, Time Thapthimthong, Milos Pekovic, Lek Patravadi and Shalini Pires.
Filming is scheduled to begin in and around Koh Samui, Phuket and Bangkok, Thailand in February, and follows a new group of multi-generational guests at another White Lotus hotel.
Characters include “a patriarch, a corporate executive, an actress, a stepdad, a country club wife, a misfit and a yogi.” Hawke plays the misfit guy, while Schwarzenegger plays the finance guy.
The new season will explore “death in religion and Eastern spirituality,” White said a year ago. More recently, he described the season as “big” and going to be “longer, bigger and crazier.”
Due to strike-related delays affecting production, the new season is expected to arrive in 2025.
