Ewen McIntosh, who played lovable loser Keith in Ricky Gervais’s BBC comedy the deskHe died in the year 50.
Gervais was among those to pay tribute to the actor, whose death was confirmed by his talent agency JustRight Management.
“It is with great sadness that we announce the quiet passing of beloved comedy genius Ewen Macintosh. His family thanks everyone who supported him, especially Willow Green Care Home,” the statement read.
The cause of death has not been revealed, but JustRight noted that there will be a private cremation for family and close friends “soon: and a ceremonial memorial later in the year.”
Gervais, who starred in the desk Along with McIntosh between 2005 and 2013, he wrote on social media that the death was “very sad news.”
