Samsung has devoted the vast majority of its time to its phone’s new AI features. These capabilities, dubbed “Galaxy AI,” are a mix of on-device and cloud-based apps that are supposed to simplify life, much as artificial intelligence can do in this day and age.

Front and center is the automatic AI-powered voice and text translation feature. Samsung claims that its live translation function can automatically interpret your voice in calls and then deliver a computerized audio of what you said a second later. You will also see text translations appear on the screen during the call. The person on the other end of the line is also translated for your phone.

Besides the live instant translation app when you’re talking to someone in person, Samsung has been promoting Chat Assist as its other big translation feature dedicated to text. In your phone’s default messenger, you can set it to automatically translate your scattered messages into another language, with the original text appearing right below that new message. The phone can translate 19 languages, including Spanish, French, Japanese, Polish, Italian, Korean, and more.

Chat Assist should also provide your phone with a broader grammar-like spell-checking service. In Google Messages, AI can reinterpret your texts, create new writing to sound more “lyrical,” or even make yourself more like Shakespeare. Google has previously offered some of these features for chat on Android devices, but Samsung’s keyboard can also change your typing to be more “social” or “professional” on other apps.

Samsung Notes will now have access to Note Assist, which can completely reorganize your quick notes to add bullet points and headers for better understanding. If your handwriting is particularly bad, Samsung said the Notes app will reorganize your words to be clearer. Finally, the speech-to-text feature has gotten some AI upgrades that will help differentiate between speakers and create a summary of what was said in the recording.

The Samsung S24 will deliver better photos straight from Instagram and Snapchat

Of course, there are plenty of AI-powered features for photo editing. First, the company’s AI pixel replacement feature is available to remove objects in photos if you’re desperate to remove your annoying cousin from all your family photos. There are also additional features similar to Adobe Firefly that create artificial parts of the image by cropping or rotating the image outside its boundaries. Hell, the system can create artificial frames within videos to make non-slow-mo videos appear like they’re in slow motion.

The company emphasized its image enhancement features that can reduce noise and improve image quality. Other features can automatically suggest editing reflections, glare, or other unwanted elements from your photos. Samsung said that every photo edited using AI gets a watermark indicating the photo is AI, as well as an additional tag in the metadata.

Instagram and Snapchat now have access to Samsung’s native photo features like moving photos and image stabilization. Full HDR will also be enabled for photos on Instagram. Now, there is no need to go away from every app to take a photo before uploading it on those social apps.

Nope Samsung Galaxy S24 And Pixel 8/8 pro Will be the first phones to Get the search circle feature. By tapping on the navigation bar, users can bring up a simple interface to swipe, circle, or tap objects and text in any app, and then use it to perform a full Google search.

Additionally, Google combines this feature with its own search AI, and users can choose to get a response from their search circle from the company’s Generative Search Experience, or SGE. This will generate AI responses to your queries when you use the search carousel or when you use similar multi-search features in Google Lens.

Additionally, Samsung has been teasing the Galaxy S24 which will still have some AI features enabled with Android Auto. Now, it can automatically summarize group messages, suggest relevant replies, and share ETA.

Wait, is that a smart ring? Wait no don’t go…

Samsung waited until the end of its conference to surprise us all with a piece of technology that some expected to have fallen into the fiery pits where all dead technology eventually lands. Although we saw Rumors and leaks For years now, the Galaxy Ring has been real, but other than a few-second clip showing a render of the device, we haven’t gotten much or any details about what it can do.

All Samsung has promised is that it will serve as a “personal health companion” through Samsung Health, and will be a new piece of health technology. It is a “powerful and accessible health and wellness device” and is likely very similar to Oura smart ring. Hell, we don’t really know what it’ll look like based on this teaser other than that it’ll be shaped… like a ring.
