Talk about a fashion emergency.

Donatella Versace got stuck in an elevator at the LGBT Center in Los Angeles on Friday night on her way to co-host an event for the organization with Dwyane Wade.

Staff at the center immediately called the fire department, but sources say the fashion designer’s security took care of things. A passerby said: “One of the security men opened the doors.”

Fortunately, the accident did not prevent the event from continuing.

Not only was it announced that Versace would donate $50,000 to the center, but she was also named its first global ambassador.

“I feel honored to be here tonight,” Versace said after Wade introduced him, adding: “It’s very emotional for me – but also because I was stuck in the elevator. I thought I would never reach this ceiling. But it’s an honor to be here.” But please donate and vote.”

Wade also announced that his family — wife Gabrielle Union and daughter Zaya Wade joined him at the party — would donate $50,000. A few minutes later, Tinder CEO Faye Iosotaluno revealed that the dating app was also offering $50,000 to the center.

Wade said in his previous statements: “We stand with our daughter. We stand with our community. We’re talking loudly. We speak proudly. And we lead and what we lead with is that we lead with love… Everyone here today, I think we all have something in common and the one thing we all have in common is that we all want to be accepted. We all want acceptance.”

He continued: “This is what matters to us.” That’s why we will be loud to make sure this community continues to be accepted, no matter how many times they try to throw dirt on us or prevent us from continuing to grow.

Zaya Wade came out as transgender in 2020. Shortly after, her father offered advice to other parents raising a transgender child while speaking to diverse At the Met Gala. “(Think) of the moment when you were in the hospital and you held your daughter and looked at your daughter,” the former Miami Heat star said. “All the things that went through your mind and all the feelings that went through your mind. And how much love fills your heart in that moment. Never let that leave you, no matter what.”

Also seen at Friday night’s centerpiece event were Billy Eichner, Kathy Griffin, Dylan Mulvaney, Raven-Symoné, “RuPaul’s Drag Race” stars Simone and Valentina, and “Queer Eye” star Karamo Brown.
