Rajamahindravaram: A Bhimavaram man from West Godavari, who climbed a cell phone tower is still on the tower and refused to come down until the bank authorities fulfill his demand about paying the security deposit.
According to fire officer Suryaprakash, Lokam Yesubapu had climbed the cell phone tower on January 18, Thursday afternoon. Police, revenue and fire personnel made futile attempts to calm the agitated Yesubapo over the past 48 hours. But on the directions of DSP Srinath, his relatives and police made arrangements to provide food and water to him by tying a bag with a rope and giving it to him. His relatives had climbed the tower and given him a rope and a bag.
Police and fire personnel keep food and water in the bag and alert Yesubabu to drag the bag to the top of the tower. Police said his mobile phone was not charged or exhausted.
Also on Saturday, revenue officials and other administration officials reached the cell phone tower and asked him to come down and settle the issue peacefully.
