The 60th Annual Motion Picture Sound Association Awards take place Saturday night at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, with the group honoring the best feature films and television sound mixing of the year.
Tom Papa will host the ceremony, which will crown winners in seven competitive categories, while along the way JJ Abrams will be honored with the Community Filmmaker of the Year Award and Joe Earle (American Horror Story Six Feet Under) CAS Career Achievement Award.
Already tonight, FX The bear, Which has scored big wins at the Emmys and SAG Awards, among other awards, and won here for half-hour television series, presenting the Season 2 episode “Forks.” Roku channel Stranger: The Yankovic Story Sam Green’s won in the Non-Theatrical Movie or Limited Series category 32 votes Fittingly, it won for documentary, topping a field that included sound mixers from the 2023 concert film phenomenon Taylor Swift: Tour for the Ages.
This year’s live-action motion picture category includes craftsmen from two of the five Oscar nominees for Best Sound of the Year at the Universal Awards Oppenheimer And Netflix Artist, band leader. Warner Bros. has joined them. Barbie,neon Ferrari hail Moonflower Killers.
Last year, Paramount Top Gun: Maverick He won in this category. He went on to repeat this feat at the Academy Awards.
In addition to Oppenheimer And Artist, band leaderamong this year’s Oscar nominees in the Sound category are Disney films the creatorParamount Mission Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1 And A24 Area of interest.
Meanwhile, tonight’s CAS TV categories include a slew of titles that have been among awards season staples, including nominees Succession, Beef, Ted Lasso, The Crown, The Last of Us, Only Murders on the Block, The Mandalorian And Welcome to Wrexham.
