Big Mood, led by Nicola Coughlan and Lydia West, premieres in the US on Tubi


Exclusive: Toby is set to premiere Nicholas Coughlan’s film (Bridgerton, Derry girls) Lydia West (It’s a sin, Inside the manComedy series Great mood Exclusively in the US and Canada in April.

The six-episode series is written and created by Camilla Whitehill, directed by Rebecca Asher and produced by Fremantle Dancing Ledge Productions.

Great mood It follows best friends Maggie and Eddie (Coughlan and West, respectively) who have lived in each other’s pockets for ten years, through the thick, thin and multiple difficult eyebrow trends. But with the rest of their lives looming, careers hanging in the balance and Maggie’s bipolar disorder making for an unwelcome return to form, Eddie begins to wonder if this friendship is truly in their best interest.

It’s a pivotal point in their lives, bringing those important questions to the surface – could sleeping with a former history teacher be the key to happiness? Is a Rat Basement a Functional Pest Control Alternative? How do you stop your new psychiatrist from giving you anxiety dolls? Now out of their twenties, Maggie and Eddie’s relationship faces the future – can it last?

Great mood “It’s an extraordinarily powerful and original series,” Adam Lewinsohn, Tubi’s chief content officer, said in a statement to Deadline. “In the hands of creator Camilla Whitehill and director Rebecca Asher, Nicola and Lydia deliver hauntingly beautiful comedies rooted in truth. With the much-welcome addition of Great mood To our list of relevant comedies, Tubi doubles down on content that appeals to the fastest-growing segment of young and diverse viewers.

“I am happy with that Great mood He will soon arrive in the United States with Toby, although I’m also partly convinced it’s a prank played by a gang of my enemies because it sounds too good to be true. “I hope America likes it, and they name the airport after me, which is more likely there because they have more airports than us.”

The cast also includes Niamh Cusack, Eamonn Farren, Luke Featherstone, Kate Fleetwood, Rob Gilbert, Rebecca Loman, Sally Phillips, Ukweli Roach and Amalia Vitale.

Great mood It is executive produced by Lottie Beasley Mesterner, Laurence Bowen and Chris Carey for Dancing Ledge Productions and produced by Georgie Fallon. Casting director is Lauren Evans. The series was commissioned for Channel 4 in the UK by commissioning editor Laura Rissem.

Fremantle handles global distribution of the series. The deal was brokered by Lisa Honig, Fremantle’s Senior Executive Vice President of North American Distribution along with Sam Harwitz, Vice President of Acquisitions and Partnerships at Tubi.
