Belkin has created an iPhone docking station that can track you around the room

Belkin releases a motorized iPhone stand that rotates and tilts to track your movements while you shoot. The device, called the Belkin Stand Pro, is priced at $179.99, and appears to be the first to use Apple’s DockKit framework, allowing you to connect the device to your iPhone without having to install a third-party app.

The Stand Pro’s cylindrical base is able to rotate 360 degrees, while the MagSafe-equipped mechanical arm can tilt up and down in a 90-degree motion. Once you place your iPhone 12 or later on the stand, you can pair it with your device using NFC. From there, you can open any app with the camera — like FaceTime, Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp, or Microsoft Teams — and the dock will automatically shift your iPhone to keep you (or your subject) in the frame while you video chat or shoot.

The Stand Pro supports fast wireless charging at up to 15W when connected with the included USB-C cable and a 30W power source. There’s also the option to use the Stand Pro on battery power, which will give you about five hours of use on a single charge. You can turn tracking on or off using the Stand Pro’s built-in button, and an LED will show if tracking is currently active.

While there are already some inexpensive automated features, some of which claim to use AI to capture and track your movement, Belkin appears to be the first to integrate Apple’s DockKit framework, laying the groundwork for other compatible stands in the future.

Aside from the Stand Pro, Belkin also announced an upgraded version of the BoostCharge Pro 3-in-1 magnetic stand that uses the latest Qi2 standards. Like the previous model, this 15-watt charging station costs $149.99 and lets you charge your phone, Apple Watch Series 7 or later, and wireless earbuds. There’s also a new Qi2-enabled magnetic BoostCharge Pro power bank that starts at $39.99 for 5,000 mAh.

We don’t know when the Stand Pro will be released yet, but you can check back on Belkin’s website for availability. Meanwhile, the BoostCharge 3-in-1 Stand and BoostCharge Pro Power Bank will become available in March.
