An Overwatch 2 fan unexpectedly carried an Escort match on Rialto by hiding in the bushes directly behind the cargo, confusing both teams.

Overwatch 2 hosts many different game types, including Flashpoint, Capture the Flag, and Escort to name a few.

As a hero-based team shooter, most of the game modes are objective-based and usually rely on strong teamwork and coordination to get to the top.

However, one skilled player circumvented all of this by conducting a flanking match by hiding in the bushes, confusing their team and the enemy.

An Overwatch 2 player carries out the game by hiding in bushes

A post on the Overwatch subreddit from a user named Opsite-Coconut9144 gained traction after he shared a video titled “I kinda feel sorry for everyone in my lobby.”

The clip showed the Junkrat player jumping over a bush in the Rialto located directly behind the payload. Then they used the expression “loitering” to hide in the foliage.

As the enemy team streamed from the starting point, the Junkrat player remained hidden in the bushes as the payload did not move an inch.

The player was able to do this for over a minute and a half, as the video ended without either team noticing how they were blocking the payload from advancing.

Fans in the comments took advantage of this trick, with many making jokes about the trick. “I liked that it gave you the AFK warning even though you’re clearly competing,” one user said.

While playing the OP on console, some fans pointed out that this trick might be difficult on PC thanks to certain graphical settings. “PSA: People who play with low textures, those jungles don’t exist. All I see is a player sitting out in the open and I always play widow out of the gate here.

While this trick has been around since the days of Overwatch 1, it seems that many long-time fans have given up on its successful implementation after so many years.
