An Edinburgh driver’s car has been confiscated after police discovered a fatal error in his insurance policy


An Edinburgh driver has had his car confiscated after officers stopped him over an insurance issue.

The vehicle was stopped over the weekend as the vehicle was reported to police for not having an insurance policy.




However, it soon became clear that the insurance policy had already been cancelled.

Roads Police Scotland said on social media that the driver showed an email confirming the previous insurance had been cancelled.

The driver was charged and the car was confiscated.

Police Scotland said: “#EdinburghRP while on patrol stopped this vehicle because it was showing that it did not have an insurance policy. The driver then provided an email confirming that the previous insurance policy had indeed been cancelled!! The driver was charged and the vehicle was seized.”
