While viewers will have to wait a few more months until they can catch up with the students at Princeton University All Americans: Homecomingproduction is well underway on the upcoming 13-episode season.
Showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll was teased for Deadline during All AmericansThe 100th episode party they’re currently filming “what might be one of my favorite episodes of the season.”
“It’s kind of a tribute to my love of rom coms (and) my love of beautiful, slow-paced relationship dramas and movies where we just focus around two characters on one day in their lives over the course of this episode,” she said. “I’m so excited.”
According to Carroll, Season 3 of All Americans: Homecoming It will see a similar time jump to that of the main series, which begins with Season 6 a little over a year after the events of the Season 5 finale.
The shifts in casting hinted at some larger shifting narratives in Season 3 of homecoming, With both Peyton Alex Smith and Kelly Jenrette becoming recurring instead of series regulars while Martin Bobb-Semple was promoted to series regular.
Carroll has remained tight-lipped about these changes, but noted that fans should expect the unexpected from the writers’ room this season.
“The actors took the new direction we took on the show and brought it to another level,” she said. “I’m so excited for people to see this season Homecoming How our personalities have also grown and matured and how they now deal with situations differently.
All Americans: Homecoming is a young adult sports drama set against the backdrop of the HBCU experience at Princeton University, where black excellence is a way of life. The series stars Geoffrey Maia, Cory Hardrict, Sylvester Powell, Camille Hyde, Mitchell Edwards, Nita Walker, and Roel Ivy King. Peyton, Alex Smith and Kelly Jenrette will recur.
As of now, there is no release date for the third season of Homecomingalthough it will debut sometime in the summer after the 13-episode sixth season All Americanswhich will premiere on April 1.
