Former KMR agent Valerie Chiovetti is joining the commercial department at Stewart Talent

Exclusive: Stewart Talent is expanding its commercial division in Los Angeles with the appointment of Valerie Chiovetti. She comes from beleaguered KMR Talent, where she has spent the last 11 years, and is expected to bring a number of former clients with her to Stewart Talent.

Chiovetti is one of several top agents to leave KMR Talent, whose franchise with SAG-AFTRA was suspended Friday after weeks of mounting problems with client payment delays.

She began her career with Abrams Artists Agency in 2001 as an assistant in the commercial department. She was promoted to agent in 2003 where she represented talent in commercials and negotiated celebrity endorsement deals for ten years.

At Stewart Talent, you will work alongside Mark Park, Head of Commercial.

“I’ve known Mark Park since I was a commercial assistant and he worked in casting, and we hit it off! So, I was honored when he reached out to me to discuss the opportunity to join him in the Los Angeles office,” Ciovetti said. “I’m very excited to help continue building what Mark has created.” With Stuart Tallent. now? We just need a catchy nickname for the team… I’m open to suggestions!

Deadline reported in its recent coverage of KMR that Ciovetti was working on her next move. Other KMR agents who have departed in the past few days include fellow commercial division member Jimmy Hernandez, head of the on-camera adult commercial division, and talent agent Alicia Ruskin, partner/senior vice president, who are opening their own boutique, True Artists Agency; and Jed Abrahams, who resigned on Saturday as senior vice president and head of the agency’s New York office.
