Regal Parent Cineworld is assembling a leadership team under CEO Eduardo Acuna


Cineworld Group, the world’s second-largest theater circuit, said today it has completed its executive team following the appointment of CEO Eduardo Acuna in 2023 following the company’s emergence from bankruptcy.

Thomas Song from Dine Brands and Aimbridge Hospitality joined as CFO last December. Since then, Cineworld has hired former Warner Bros. executive Ben Hill. Discovery, as Chief Human Resources Officer and John Heinrich as General Counsel. Javier Sotomayor joins from Cinepolis as President of Cineworld International. John Carey has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Commercial Affairs.

“With their combined industry experience, leadership and communication skills, we are well-positioned to lead the best team in the show that drives the growth and success of Cineworld Group on a global level,” Acuna said.

Hill worked in most divisions of the company now known as Warner Bros. Discovery, including Warner Bros. Motion Pictures and Warner Bros. Television, HBO and CNN leaders in talent acquisition, organizational development, talent management, compensation and benefits, DEI, culture and employee engagement.

Henrich most recently served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary at Sally Beauty Holdings.

Sotomayor has more than 25 years of global experience in startups, marketing, business development, supply chain and strategic planning in the retail, entertainment and financial services industries.

Curry was most recently senior vice president of food services at Regal.
