The “New Amsterdam” sequel about Max’s daughter is in the NBC productions from creator David Schulner


Exclusive: New Amsterdam Fans who were still wanting more when the NBC series wrapped its run after 5 seasons last year may have something new to look forward to.

Series creator, executive producer and showrunner David Schulner is developing a spinoff series for NBC 30 years after the events of the original series. Tentatively titled New Amsterdam: TomorrowThe film follows Dr. Max Goodwin’s (Ryan Eggold) daughter, Luna Goodwin, who takes over her father’s position as medical director of New Amsterdam Hospital.

The potential sequel, which is expected to explore ways in which artificial intelligence can help advance the medical industry in the future, has been created in New Amsterdam Series conclusion. A young and enthusiastic new medical director, played by Molly Griggs, is introduced at the beginning of the episode who is eventually revealed to be Max’s daughter, Luna Goodwin, as an adult in flash-forwards.

Peter Horton, who served as showrunner and director of the original series, is set to direct.
