Stephen Lightfoot has developed Scott Harvath’s books for Sony Pictures Television under the new overall deal


Exclusive🙁Shantaram, Punisher) has been tapped to develop a series adaptation of the Scot Harvath film New York Times bestseller Brad Thor has written under a relatively new overall deal with Sony Pictures Television that had not previously been announced, Deadline has learned.

We’re told the deal to develop the scripted drama across cable and streaming was finalized last year, before the WGA strike. As previously reported, Lightfoot is also currently working with the studio as co-showrunner alongside Orien Uziel of Sony Pictures Television’s untitled Spider-Man Noir series, based on the Marvel comic, for MGM+ and Prime Video.

In addition to writing the script for Scot Harvath’s as-yet-untitled series, Lightfoot is exec producing alongside Thor; the John Wick Franchise owner Chad Stahelski and colleagues Alex Young and Jason Spitz at 87Eleven Entertainment; Sean Reddick and Yvette Yates Reddick of Impossible Dream Entertainment; Scott Cross and Sean Cross of Cross Pictures, LLC; Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa. Sources told Deadline that action master Stahelski may direct the entire first season of the show, though with a lot on his plate at present, that will likely come down to scheduling.
