The thrill of this Super Tuesday may be watching how all the networks try to make the night interesting.
About 16 states and one territory will vote: Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont and Virginia. A Democratic caucus is also being held in American Samoa, and Iowa Democrats will also reveal its results.
But with Joe Biden and Donald Trump heading to a rematch in the 2024 presidential election, coverage Tuesday will focus on the margins of victory, when each candidate wins their nomination and what’s next between now and Election Day.
This is a far cry from 2020, when Biden notched victories in several states to secure a front-runner finish in the Democratic primary over Bernie Sanders. Four years ago, Super Tuesday was a big day of voting in a drawn-out nomination battle in both parties.
This year, Nikki Haley will be looking for a show that gives her a reason to continue beyond Tuesday, as she takes her party on notice with increasingly critical statements about Trump. In the race for the Democratic nomination, Biden faces Dean Phillips and Marianne Williamson, but their results are minimal so far. There has been some focus recently on the amount of “undeclared” voting, or the left’s protest against Biden’s policies in Gaza.
The coverage will also be a preview of Thursday’s next major event: Biden’s State of the Union address, which has special significance this year as the president runs for re-election.

ABC
David Muir will anchor coverage beginning at 10 PM ET, and will be joined by Lynsey Davis and members of the network’s political team. Davis will anchor coverage on ABC News Live beginning at 7 p.m. ET, which will lead into the broadcast network’s coverage. Night line It will contain special content and features surrounding Super Tuesday with co-anchor JoJo Chang.
CBS
Norah O’Donnell’s coverage begins at 10 PM ET, joined by members of the network’s political team. CBS News Streaming will begin coverage at 8 PM ET hosted by Major Garrett. Garrett will also anchor a special edition of America decides At 5 p.m., and at 7 p.m. a special edition of Prime Time with John Dickerson. Dickerson will continue Super Tuesday coverage with West Coast results beginning at 11 p.m. ET.
CNN
Wolf Blitzer and Erin Burnett will begin coverage at 4 PM ET, followed by Jake Tapper and Anderson Cooper starting at 6 PM ET. Abby Phillip and Laura Coates will anchor the nightly coverage starting at midnight. Dana Bash will lead conversations and analysis with reporters.
Fox News
Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum will lead the coverage beginning at 7pm ET, and will be joined by a rotating team of commentators and hosts. This will include appearances by Laura Ingraham, Jesse Waters and Sean Hannity. Trace Gallagher will continue coverage at 11 p.m. ET Fox News@nightwith Gillian Turner and Mike Emanuel From 1 to 4 a.m., Fox Nation will present a special analysis with Pete Hegseth and a group of network anchors and hosts.
MSNBC
Rachel Maddow will lead special coverage beginning at 6 p.m. ET, with Nicole Wallace, Joy Reid, Ari Melber, Chris Hayes, Alex Wagner, Lawrence O’Donnell, Stephanie Rohl and Jen Psaki. Psaki will continue special coverage at midnight.
NBC News
Lester Holt and Savannah Guthrie anchor special coverage beginning at 10 PM ET, with news and analysis from network anchors and reporters. NBC News Now will begin coverage at 5 PM ET, anchored by Tom Llamas and Haley Jackson. Kristen Welker will pick up coverage starting at 11 p.m. ET.
Newsnation
Coverage begins at 7pm ET with Chris Cuomo, Dan Abrams, Elizabeth Vargas, Leland Vittert and Chris Stierwalt. New roving reporter Geraldo Rivera will also be featured in the coverage along with other analysts and reporters.
PBS Newshour
Amna Nawaz and Jeff Bennett anchor special coverage at 11 p.m. ET.
