SNL Dings Paramount+ Weekend Update Compares Donald Trump to ‘Dark Knight Rises’ Villain Bane

Colin Jost and Michael Che satirize popular culture and news Saturday Night Live “Weekend Update” segment, where Paramount+ came under attack, and Donald Trump remained the target of jokes.

Jost filed the lawsuit against the stars in 1968 Romeo and Juliet He was brought to Paramount Pictures to prevent the digital release of the film that contained explicit photos of them as teenagers.

“Paramount has agreed to lock it away where no one will ever see it — Paramount+,” Jost quipped.

The duo opened the weekly segment by taking a swipe at Trump by acknowledging that the Republican presidential candidate won the South Carolina primary, “which means Trump is now undefeated, everywhere but in court.”

Jost then played a video of Trump offering a “more moderate (and) unified tone” for his general election run.

“November 5th will be our new day of liberation, but for the liars, the cheaters, the cheats, the censors, the crooks…it will be Judgment Day,” Trump said.

Ghost wondered where he had heard this speech before and said it was from Bane The Dark Knight Rises.

Che went to Nikki Haley and said the Republican presidential candidate said she would not stay in the race to be Trump’s running mate because she “doesn’t need to kiss the ring.” The comedian then joked: “While Tim Scott said he would suck the ring right off Trump’s finger.”

Additionally, Che joked about the gold sneakers Trump is selling, joking that people “could check them out on the feet of the guy who’s being dragged off your ride.”
