Troy Kotsur has joined the third season of Foundation on Apple TV+.
The role will mark the return to Apple of Kotsur, who previously starred in the film “CODA,” which was distributed by the tech giant’s streaming arm.
In “Enterprise,” Kotsur will appear as Prim Palver, who is described as “the leader of the planet of psychics.” He joins returning series stars Lee Pace and Jared Harris in the sci-fi epic.
Kotsur won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in CODA, and the film also won for Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay. With this win, Kotsur became the second deaf actor in history to win an Academy Award, after his co-star in the film “CODA” Marlee Matlin, who won the Best Actress Oscar in 1987. Kotsur’s recent roles include an appearance as himself in the final. “Curb Your Enthusiasm” season and his appearance in the first season of “The Mandalorian.” He has also appeared in shows like “Criminal Minds,” “Scrubs,” and “CSI: New York.”
