In her first interviews since a jury on Friday ordered Donald Trump to pay her $83 million in a defamation case ruling, This Morning columnist E. Jean Carroll described what it was like to face the former president in court.
Carroll said CNN This Morning She had not seen Trump in nearly 30 years, “since he assaulted me in the locker room.” (Trump was convicted in May 2023 of sexual assault and defamation of Carroll, but he did not attend that trial.)
She said before the trial that she could not sleep, eat or think properly. Asked by George Stephanopoulos on GMA Regarding confronting the former president after all these years, Carroll said that the idea was “terrifying, until I got there.”
The writer says that as soon as she entered the courtroom and stared into Trump’s eyes, she realized that her fears were unfounded.

When asked what she would do with the money, Carroll told Stephanopoulos: “I would like to give the money to something that Donald Trump hates… maybe a fund for women who have been sexually assaulted by Donald Trump.”
