Masimo (MASI) CEO says users are better off without Apple’s (AAPL) pulse oximeter.

Masimo company chief executive officer Joe KianiApple, which is locked in a legal battle with Apple Inc over its blood oxygen feature, said consumers would be better off without the iPhone maker’s version of the technology.

The comments came on the heels of Apple’s decision to halt sales of smartwatches on Thursday that contained the gadget — a blood oxygen saturation measure known as pulse oximetry — which was a heavily marketed health feature on the devices. The move came as a result of a ruling by the US International Trade Commission that found the technology infringed Masimo’s patents.
