Tangram Insurance Services Inc., the managing general agent and program management unit of Heffernan Group, said Wednesday it has purchased preferred reinsurance brokers.
The purchase of Preferred Re, which is headquartered in Columbia, South Carolina, and has six employees, represents Tangram’s expansion into the reinsurance broking space.
The terms were not disclosed.
Bob Sanders, president of Preferred Re, will continue to lead the company, Tangram said in a statement.
Preferred Re provides traditional reinsurance services; Development and placement services for MGAs, managing general underwriters and program managers; Reinsurance and front-of-house services for prisoners.
