Red Sea attacks: US, UK and Israeli ships face insurance exclusions

Some ship insurers have begun avoiding covering US and British commercial ships against war risks when they sail in the southern Red Sea, another sign of the backlash since the two countries’ air strikes on Yemen last week.

Houthi militants have intensified their attacks on commercial ships in the past few days, and carried out their threat to respond to air strikes carried out by the United States and the United Kingdom on Friday. They have hit two cargo carriers with missiles since Monday, although both were able to continue their journey.
