Emmys 2024 Live: Succession and The Bear sweep awards as night ends with a bang on stage

We knew red wasn’t going anywhere this season, as it proved to be a crowd favorite Gray’s Anatomy alum Katherine Heigl, Abbott ElementaryJanelle James, W Daisy Jones and the SixCamila Morrone stuns in simple and elegant red dresses. Old Hollywood glamor was also on display on the red carpet, where many stars arrived in their best satin skirts, feather dresses, and silver or gold necklaces.

“We may remember it as a three-way battle, but there was no real battle about it,” Lewis Chilton wrote. “The world-famous HBO drama Succession It ended the night as the most prolific winner, winning a total of six awards in the drama categories, including Best Series, Best Actor (for Kieran Culkin), Best Actress (for Sarah Snook) and Best Supporting Actor (for Matthew Macfadyen).

While accepting the award for Best Comedy Series, TV chef-turned-actor Matty Matheson caught the attention of his star Ebon Moss-Bachrach, who planted a huge smile on his lips.

The couple remained in an embrace for a few seconds while the audience cheered before they finally separated. “I love you, Ebon,” a distraught Matheson said afterward. He continued to thank restaurants in general and the hospitality industry.

In an unsurprising ending, Succession It won the award for best drama series.

In his speech, showrunner Jesse Armstrong thanked Brian Cox, “whom this show has been centered around since day one.”

The final win of the night brings the HBO show’s total to six wins.

Kieran Culkin and Sarah Snook rounded out the three acting wins Succession After Matthew Macfadyen earlier in the night.

After beating out fellow cast members Brian Cox and Jeremy Strong, he gave Culkin a kiss on the mouth before making his way on stage. The funnyman was emotional and serious until the end of his speech as he pleaded with his wife for more kids – “You said you’d think about it if I won!”

Daniel Radcliffe has sparked marriage rumors with his long-time girlfriend Erin Darke.

The 34-year-old actor spoke candidly about his family during an interview with Laverne Cox H! NewsWhile walking on the red carpet. Radcliffe was nominated for an Emmy Award for the first time ever for his role in a film Stranger: The Yankovic Story.

Speaking to Cox, Radcliffe appeared to hint that he and Darke – with whom he shares an almost one-year-old son – had tied the knot when he described his partner’s parents.

“Honestly, the people whose opinions I cared about the film the most were my in-laws,” he said when discussing some of the feedback he received about the film. Stranger: The Yankovic Story. “They’re huge Weird Al fans and they kind of got me into it. But they were very happy, thank God.”
