Emmy’s 2024: Stars walk the ‘silver carpet’ as event begins

The 75th Primetime Emmy Awards aired on Monday (January 15) after a four-month delay, with TV’s top talent gathering in Los Angeles for a glittering ceremony.

The annual celebration of the year’s greatest TV shows was held half a year after the nominations were announced in July.

The ceremony was scheduled to take place in September, but was postponed due to strikes by writers and actors in Hollywood that brought the industry to a standstill last year. As such, these awards honored shows that aired between June 1, 2022, and May 31, 2023, meaning they looked like they had been watched before.

The show that received the most nominations was Succession, the fourth and final season which aired on HBO last year. The drama won six awards. Fellow HBO dramas The last of us And White lotus They were also heavily nominated, but fell short of the competition in terms of wins on the night.

Netflix limited series meat and Hulu comedy The bear He also saw a slew of big wins at the ceremony.
