Providence resumes accepting Regence BSBS Oregon insurance coverage | health watch

This came after weeks of negotiations.

PORTLAND AND MEDFORD, OR – Providence Health & Services’ Medford Hospital is resuming its acceptance of Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon insurance coverage. It is part of a system-wide agreement by Providence with Regency.

“We are pleased to announce that Providence and Regency worked throughout the weekend and reached an agreement on a new contract,” Providence said today.

Providence said while both parties are finalizing work on a new contract, Providence has rescinded the termination of its contract and, “RThis means that all Providence patients with Regency Health insurance will continue to have access to in-network care at Providence facilities and clinics.”

“We are grateful for Regens’ recognition of our need to meet rising costs and compensate our caregivers, and we look forward to working in continued partnership and collaboration with Regens to serve our patients and communities with world-class health care services,” Providence said.

Regence said today it is pleased that Providence Health & Services has agreed to withdraw the termination of Regence insurance benefits and remain in-network for Regence Commercial and Medicare Advantage members.

“We recognize the uncertainty these negotiations have caused for some Regency members and appreciate their patience as we work with Providence leadership to achieve more sustainable reimbursement rates for our members and customers,” Regency said.

Regence says it is grateful to its members that they will not experience further interruptions in care with Providence.
