The latest Galaxy S24 leak shows the exciting AI photo editing feature in action

People who were avoiding all the Galaxy S24 leaks to avoid spoilers need to stick to their convictions just a few days ago, as Samsung’s next Unpacked launch event is less than five days away. On the other hand, for those who want as much information as quickly as possible, things are going exactly as you’d expect, with more and more details about the upcoming flagship phone being confirmed almost every day.

Today is no different. Recently, images of a lot of official Samsung marketing materials have hit the internet, and we now have more of them, thanks Android addresses. This leak is interesting for those looking forward to all the AI features that the Galaxy S24 series will offer and reveals an exciting way to use AI in photo editing.

We’ve previously heard that the Galaxy S24, S24+ and S24 Ultra will have functions such as removing and moving objects in existing photos, and an example of this can be seen in one of the leaked images: In a photo of a BMX rider walking up a slope and in the air, artificial intelligence is used to move the rider upward In the air than it was when the photo was taken.

You won’t just be able to move things around. You’ll also be able to shrink and rotate it, as Samsung showed in the official promotional video for the Unpacked event. However, it remains to be seen how perfect the modified image will be, as generating artificial data to fill the space where the transferred objects were originally placed can be difficult. It all sounds perfect in promotional materials, but real-world results can be hit or miss when it comes to AI manipulation of photos (or videos).

Other details revealed in this leak include the camera’s megapixel count and zoom capabilities. As we already know, the Galaxy S24 Ultra will have a 200MP main camera that will be able to take lossless 2x zoom photos, the 3x and 5x optical zoom will be handled by 10MP and 50MP telephoto lenses, and ultra-wide shots and selfies will be captured. That’s handled by 12MP cameras, like the Galaxy S23 Ultra.

The cameras on the Galaxy S24 and S24+ will also remain the same as on the S23 lineup: a 50-megapixel main (with 2x optical zoom), a 10-megapixel 3x optical telephoto camera, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 12-megapixel front-facing camera. There’s no confirmation on whether Samsung is using newer sensors for any of the cameras in the Galaxy S24 lineup, but we should find out once the phones are unveiled on January 17.
