Alphabet subsidiary Google said it would lay off hundreds of employees working in its digital assistant, hardware and engineering teams, as it continues its quest to reduce costs.
Among the affected workers are those who work on Google Assistant and on the augmented reality hardware team. The company said that workers in the company’s central engineering organization were also affected by the cuts.
