Authorities detained a senior official in charge of running Beijing’s health insurance program without explanation on the eve of the three-day New Year’s weekend, Caixin has learned.
A source close to the office said that Cheng Jie, director of the Medical Insurance Administration Center under the Beijing Municipal Medical Insurance Bureau, was arrested at a local airport on December 29, without specifying the airport.
