“Gosh, I was scanning the comments to see if anyone mentioned touchscreens in cars before I went in.
I recently had to retire my 1996 Geo Prizm (RIP) and apparently everything was manual. I can change the radio using the buttons and manipulate the climate controls with a dial and buttons I can feel without taking my eyes off the road. amazing.
My new car is 2015, and my husband’s car is 2020, both on display. There are buttons on the steering wheel, but you have to look at the screen to see if pressing the button did what you wanted.
My husband’s car has a feature where you can pair your phone and mirror the phone’s screen to the car’s screen so you can text, mess around with maps, music, and whatever else. Like…just drive the car!
If they’ve made it illegal to use your phone while driving, please tell me why they make cars that are so screen focused! How is this different?”
