Michael Che thinks comedians should “boycott” hosting at award shows after Joe Kooy’s carnage hosting job at the 81st annual Golden Globe Awards on Sunday.

Chi, who serves as a co-writer on “Saturday Night Live,” rushed to social media on Monday to defend Cui in the wake of criticism over his monologue.

“Comedians should boycott hosting awards shows,” Che wrote in a now-deleted Instagram post. “On the one hand, it’s very difficult to make movie stars laugh. They’re so ashamed of themselves that they can’t have a good time.

“Secondly, they don’t even want to laugh,” he continued. “They’re so busy thinking about their careers and their engagements and their cause… They think they want to be made fun of, but they actually don’t. They actually just want their trophy. And a nice picture.”

During his monologue, Koei told the audience: “I got the gig 10 days ago. Want the perfect monologue? Oh, shut up… I wrote some of these, and they are the ones you laugh at.”

The now-viral moment caught Che’s attention, prompting him to criticize celebrities who roll their eyes at the jokes.

“You know what really annoys me at award shows? When a stand-up host is having difficulties, he always resorts to some actor making that face (rolling eye emoji), like a really dude…? You can’t ‘act’ like it was Funny..?” he wrote in a separate Instagram post, which has also since been deleted.
