Lisa Bonet is filing for divorce from Jason Momoa after two years of separation

Lisa Bonet and Jason Momoa are one step closer to finally being “free.”

The Cosby Show star has finally filed for divorce from the Aquaman actor, two years after announcing their split in January 2022.

Bonet, 56, asked a judge to annul the marriage, according to new court documents obtained by TMZ. The former couple were together for 12 years and married for nearly five.

The actress indicates the separation date as October 7, 2020.

The couple has a daughter, Lola Iolani Momoa, 16, and a son, Nakoa Wolf Manakawapo Namakaha Momoa, 15.

The “High Fidelity” star is requesting joint physical and legal custody of the minors, but is not asking for spousal support.

The couple originally announced their split via a joint statement on Instagram.

“We have all felt the pressure and changes of these transformative times,” the couple said at the time. “The revolution is unfolding and our family is no exception… feeling and growing from the seismic shifts that are occurring.”

“And so we share the news with our family that we are separating from marriage. We share this not because we think it is newsworthy, but so that we can do so with dignity and honesty as we move on with our lives.

They added: “The love between us continues, and develops in ways that it wants to know and live.” “We free each other to be what we learn to become,” the statement continued. “Our unwavering devotion to this sacred life and to our children. Teaching our children what is possible. Live the prayer. May love prevail.”

Momoa and Bonet began dating in 2005 after meeting at a jazz club through mutual friends and bonded over a shared love of Guinness, but the “Dune” star said he first fell in love with Bonet while watching her on “The Cosby Show.” “

“Ever since I was eight years old — I’ve seen her on TV and I’m like, ‘Mom, I want that girl,'” he joked to James Corden on The Late Late Show in November 2017. “I’m going to chase you for the rest of my life and I’m going to get you.” I have always wanted to meet her and she has always been the queen.

The couple secretly married in October 2017, but the news soon became public.
