81st Golden Globe Awards Ceremony

Emma Stone won the Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy. Bad things Sunday Night – The award for best backstage moment also went to the quick-witted actor.

When a reporter in the press room asked what Stone thought of his old friend Taylor Swift cheers Too loud for her in the audience, Stone walked up to the microphone and deadpanned, “What a hole, am I right?”

Stone is on his way to this awards season with a standout performance Rolling Stone Calls “View” for the actor. “Stone moves quickly from preverbal toddler to childlike wonder to troubled teenager, all while remaining a grown woman unaware of the chain of reactions around her. Her performance displays the poise and ingenuity of a chainsaw juggler.

At a recent roundtable held for Hollywood Reporter Stone revealed that she and the crew spent weeks preparing for the film in an unusual way. “You’re playing games where you’re all tied together. Real theatrical games,” Stone said. “Everyone has to close their eyes and walk around, and one person is tasked with putting a chair under them while they sit. It’s just completely ridiculous. You embarrass yourself in front of each other and then you get close really fast. So, by the time you’re on set, you’ll feel like you know each other well, and you can experiment, let loose, and make fun of each other. And it’s not an eggshell experience with the other actors, which is really helpful.

At the Venice Film Festival, earlier in the year, director Yorgos Lanthimos discussed collaborating with Stone on the bizarre and brutal sex scenes in the Frankenstein-inspired film. He said at the press conference: “We had to be confident, and the character should not feel ashamed, and Emma should not feel ashamed of her body, her nudity, and her involvement in those scenes.” I understood it immediately. The great thing about me and Emma is that we’ve now completed four films together, so there’s a shortcut. We can communicate without having to explain everything or talk too much about things.

Lanthimos added: “Especially for the sex scenes, we sat down with Emma and decided: What kind of situation are we doing here?” “What kind of thing is there?” ‘What is missing?’ “What do we need to capture of the experience of sex, and the different desires that people have, just to make this an adequate representation of human desire and its characteristics?” It was important for all of us to have that be part of the film and not be ashamed of it. It’s also a lot of fun sometimes.
