LIC is serious about insuring a hero’s love

Vignesh Shivan’s upcoming film, “LIC (Love Insurance Corporation),” starring Pradeep Ranganathan and Krithi Shetty, appears to have faced copyright issues. A notice has been sent to the makers of the film, including Vignesh Shivan and Seven Screen Studio, by the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC).

LIC objects to the use of the title. The notice warns of legal action if the address is not changed within seven days. The film, which was released in December last year, features SJ Suryah in an important role and marks the collaboration of Vignesh Shivan, Pradeep and Krithi for the first time.

The production includes Seven Screen Studio and Rowdy Pictures, with Anirudh Ravichander composing the music, Yogi Babu in a comic role, and ace cinematographer Ravi Varman on board.

So far, the makers have not responded to the notice, and it remains to be seen how they will deal with the copyright issue surrounding the film’s title.
